Welcome James Preuss - Director of Facilities

Serán Bioscience is pleased to announce the appointment of James Preuss as Director of Facilities.

In his new role, Preuss will oversee Serán’s development and manufacturing facilities, as well as manage operations and the expansion of the company’s 10-building campus in Bend, Oregon.

Preuss has an extensive background in facilities and construction management and more than 16 years of experience directing large-scale facility operations throughout the West.  

“We’re excited James is joining the Serán team because of his expansive knowledge of facility operations and construction, and his experience in managing complex technical projects from start to finish,” said Dan Smithey, Ph.D., Serán co-founder and CEO. “Our new manufacturing facility represents a key expansion of the services we provide our clients and his expertise will ensure that every aspect of the construction will meet our rigorous standards.”

Smithey said Pruess’s broad range of experience in solving problems and developing effective strategies in response to changing priorities will be an invaluable asset in this phase of Serán’s growth.

Preuss began his career in commercial construction, focusing on large facility buildouts. He transitioned to facilities management, overseeing all aspects of operations and demonstrating expertise in the management of complex projects across multiple disciplines with strong analytical and financial management.  

Preuss said he’s excited to join Serán’s team because of the company’s commitment to excellence and its focus on expanding capabilities to meet customer’s needs.
